The Importance of a Spring Cleanse for Your Body

Spring is the time of year when many of us deep clean our homes and reorganize our closets, but did you know that it’s also a great time to cleanse your body? Throughout the year, we’re regularly exposed to harmful elements that collect in our systems, so it’s critical to conduct a total body cleanse in the fall and spring. Here are some of the most common poisons in our environment and the damage they can cause, as well as what you can do to help rid your body of them:

Toxins – Toxins can be gasses, such as hydrogen chloride; compounds, such as asbestos; or elements, like mercury. Our bodies can ingest toxins from eating or drinking contaminated food or water that hasn’t been properly cleaned, from certain medications, and by breathing polluted air. Toxins can build up in our systems and make us nauseous, give us headaches, and even cause cancer and birth defects.

PesticidesPesticides are used to kill insects, fungus, rodents, and other forms of plant or animal life. Nonorganic food is sprayed with pesticides, which we ingest by eating, or can inhale when they’re airborne. Pesticides can cause short-term acute effects such as rashes, blisters, and eye irritation, as well as chronic long-term harm in the form of cancer and disruption of the endocrine system.

Parasites — These nasty organisms survive by feeding off the nutrients of their hosts. Humans can get flatworm, roundworm, and pinworm from contaminated food or water, while other parasites such as ringworm are spread from skin to skin contact. Parasites can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, and rashes, as well as muscle and joint pain.

Hormones — Synthetic estrogen and testosterone have been used by the meat and dairy industries for years to increase weight gain and milk production in livestock. Some public health experts have argued that hormones such as recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF) are linked to breast and prostate cancer and early puberty in girls.

How to Properly Cleanse Your Body

For a healthy total body cleanse, be sure to get plenty of rest and drink distilled water. Eat cleansing foods such as garlic, pumpkin seeds, honey, and papaya seeds. Choose healthy fats and oils, like organic extra-virgin olive oil and coconut oil. Limit animal proteins while cleansing, and juice with fruits and veggies —beets, lemons, apples, cucumbers and ginger, celery, carrot, spinach and kale are good choices. Add turmeric for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Go with organic foods when possible. Avoid fructose, trans fats, and partially hydrogenated fats.

Don’t forget to take high-quality supplements to aid in your cleanse! We recommend the following:

Fiber Cleanse will fully cleanse the colon. Flush the toxins from your lymphatic system with Lymphatic Cleanser. PARA-CL will help eliminate toxins and pollutants in the lungs and also contains black walnut, which can reduce and treat parasitic infections. Use Rosemary Essential Oil as a digestive aid.
